This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace on earth

..engraved at the foot of Sadako Sasaki's statue in Hiroshima Peace Park.

Sadako, a twelve-year-old heroin who struggled with leukemia from the atomic bomb radiation 1945.

A book I just read, is based on a true story of Sadako Sasaki. Born in Hiroshima in 1943, she was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped. She grew to be an energetic girl who loved and had talent in running. In the age of 11, she was running in a competition when she first felt the agonizing pain, but a moment later she was OK. She decided not to tell anybody about this, including her family and her best friend, Chizuko. She suffered pain sometimes but she felt better and better to the end of the year. She even went to a festival and wanted to wear a kimono, but her family didn't have much money so she didn't really force to have one.

The next year, she couldn't hide the pain anymore as she fell when she was running. Her parents brought her to the Red Cross Hospital where leukemia patients were hospitalized. She didn't want to imagine she had it, her mother called it the atom bomb disease, leukemia. But to her and her parents' surprise, she really had it. She was hospitalized there.

Her friends were really sad and they often visited Sadako. One day, Chizuko visited Sadako and brought a big gold origami crane. Chizuko suggest Sadako to make 1000 cranes -Japanese people believe by making 1000 cranes can grant one's wish- and gave the crane to her. Sadako was so happy, she committed to make 1000 cranes. her younger brother helped her to hang the cranes on the ceiling of her room at the hospital. her schoolmates cheered her up too, they even made a doll for Sadako, she named it Kokeshi and put it beside Chizuko's crane on the table beside her bed.

She was energic and had so much hope at the first days but her physic kept dropping for months later. One night, all of her family gathered and her mother brought a kimono with flowers for her to wear. She felt really happy that night, but she knew she didn't have much time left. She got weaker that she couldn't make even another crane. She stared at the cranes on the ceiling for the last time and she closed her eyes.

Her schoolmates was very sad, they continued the 1000 cranes which were buried along with Sadako later. They wanted to make a memorial for Sadako and published a book titled Kokeshi, a collection of essays in her memory, to raise funds. From the funds, they built a monument which now still standing at Hiroshima Peace Park. The Children Peace Monument shows Sadako holding the golden crane standing on a mountain. At her feet was engraved the wish...

"This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace on earth."

Nausicaa; What a Princess

A few days ago, I watched this very old yet modern, fantasy movie from my favorite anime movie producer, Hayao Miyazaki. As you can see, the title is...
Kaze no Tano no Naushika

Created in 1984, the technologies in the film are as good, or even better than techs nowadays. Hayao's really good in air technologies and it could also be seen in this movie. The story plotted when earth was so polluted, some places had too much toxic in air that people must wear masks in those territory. The worst part polluted is the forest Sea of Decay; it's been told that toxic come from there and take life from villages around it. Insects live there and the go rage (red eyes) if people wanted to destroy the forest.

Princess Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind was loved by her people and olse by the insects in the Sea of Decay. It was peaceful until Tolmekian people attacked the Valley of the Wind and took Nausicaa for their plan destroying the Sea of Decay. Pejite people then involved also in this conflict; they too, wanted to destroy the Sea of Decay. Nausicaa wanted to save her people and the Sea of Decay -moreover after she had found out the secret of the forest-, but could she do it?

This movie is very touching and interesting to watch. Although it's an old anime, but the animation and technologies are not bad, not bad at all. And above all, its message was clear and very related to our life :) So, I really recommend you to watch it XD

DF: Returning Player

Yes, like everyone else, I love playing games
It's just that I've been to busy to play one
But, eventually, I miss playing games
That's why, when tomorrow is the time for exams
I play today XD

Okay, so this is a game I've played since I was in elementary school.
Meet my character: Wolfvan
This is when I wore all golden weapons and accessories,
cool huh? A golden warrior he was.
I guess you must have wondered -or maybe not- why is he a male. There's a story behind it. One day, my cousin showed me this game and asked me to play. He then made an account for me and made an avatar. A male avatar. Well, I was there and I agreed with what he did, Wolfvan is the name I made -taken from my favorite anime characters at the time, Wolfram (Kyou Kara Maou) and Van (The Vision of Escaflowne)-
Some time later, I wanted to change the gender of my character, but unfortunately he's level were already high so I stick with it XD

I love the graphic of this game, the characters are all straight and cool. This is my favorite NPC: Tomix
Right: old Tomix, he's in Book 3. Left: Young Tomix, the cool one, he's in Book 1 and 2.
Now, DF's getting cooler with the new animations and all. Check this out: ChonoZ-Preview!
All the quests are getting tougher too, I have to catch up with the quests I've missed while I don't play the game :( but it's OK, I'll have plenty of time later after I finish all of my exams!!
Interested?? Well just play the game !!

Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki

My Japanese friend recommend the film to me.
Finally I watched it last month! And it was superb!
It is about Hana (a college student) who fell in love with a werewolf. Later they got two werewolf children, Yuki -meaning: snow because she was born in a snowy day- is a girl and Ame -meaning: rain because it was summer but it rained when Ame was born- is the younger boy. Not long after Ame's birth, her husband died.
Hana then moved to a countryside and raised her two children. Yuki then decided to be human, while Ame decided to be wolf.
The struggle and determination of Hana really touched me. How she accepted and keep moving on with her life and support 100% all of her children.

I really recommend this film to all who love anime or not, because maybe this is just a fantasy -the werewolf part, I mean-, but the message is so clear and the film is very touching.

At the last moment, when Hana realize Ame decided to be wolf; even though it's hard for her, she still said "Take care and live strong!"

Next studies?

Happy belated new year everyone!!
I couldn't believe I missed a month!
But it's better than never, isn't it? XD

Anyway, these times are crucial for me to choose the path for my next studies
Faculty, university. Time to hunt!

In the past, I seemed so firm in my decision
But now, I'm confused
Music -of course is what I want- has not been developed well in my country
That's why I tried to find something else

I've come with some faculties
They are what I think I wanted
But the more I think of it, the more I doubt

At last, I realized how I could choose the perfect faculty
It's not only about what I want
But it's also about what potential I have

Where could I use all the potential I have while still excited because I also love it

Christmas Message

I've heard many preaches this Christmas
From youth communities in church
From church's Christmas celebration
And I felt somehow it was all connected

Dec 15: Youth Community's Christmas

"The Simplicity of Christmas"

AH preached from Philippians 2 : 1 - 8
He underlined verse 6 - 8
Where Jesus came down from Heaven to the earth to be human
More than that, to be the lowest from the human
For what? To save humankind

And He did it in simple ways
The preacher gave 3 very different examples:
  1. The shepherds - Luke 2 : 8 - 15
  2. Paul - Acts 9 : 1 - 9
  3. Samaritan woman - John 4 : 1 - 26
For the shepherds whose status were the lowest at that time, the Angels appeared and told them "Do not be afraid...." (10) It happened when the shepherds were watching their flocks (8) which they do everyday -it was an ordinary task to do. That alone made them believe.

For Saul -the name before Paul, it's totally different. God had to make it hard, because Saul is hard. God even made him blind for 3 days (9). This happened when Paul were doing his job, murdering Lord's disciples (1-2). This, too, were ordinary task for him. After that, Paul totally changed and became God's servant to the end.

For the Samaritan woman, Jesus went and spoke to her Himself. This, too, happened when the woman was doing her ordinary task, to draw water (7). But she specially came at noon, because of a certain reason, she had been married 5 times and the man she was with was not her husband (17-18).

These 3 different people, God showed His love in unique ways, different for each of them, but in simple ways, while they were doing their ordinary tasks. And for each of them, He showed His love, His great and same love which He showed to us as well.

Dec 21: Teen Community's Christmas

"The Greatest Gift of Christmas"

The same preacher with different topic
Now AH preached from Matthew 2 : 1 - 12
The greatest gift as may you have expected is Jesus' birth
And His humbleness to save us, human

But what interests me in the preach is he underlined for whom the invitation was
The invitation to see Jesus, the newborn King
And he mentioned Herod
Herod was also invited to see Jesus' birth
He was even closer geographically than the Magi from the east

The Magi told Herod that they saw the star leading them to where Jesus was born (2)
Even the priests and teachers of the law confirmed it (4-5)
But that wicked Herod, he didn't want anybody to have his throne
So he rejected that greatest gift

Dec 24: Christmas Eve's Celebration

"The Road to Bethlehem"

Here, the preacher JS underlined Joseph and Mary's big responsibility to bring Jesus to Bethlehem
How they struggled on the road
Even until they have arrived at Bethlehem
Searching for a place to give birth
Gave birth and put the Baby in a stable

Dec 25: Christmas' Celebration

"Believing the Impossible"

And at last, the preacher YC also preached from Philippians 2 : 3 - 10
But he preached in reverse
He started from verse 8 - 10 : Jesus as man was lifted by God to be a god
Then he continue to verse 6 - 7 : Jesus a God became human
These two parts seemed opposite, is He the same in verse 8-10 and 6-7?
YC believes it's different

  • In verse 8-10, Jesus is a God in eternity; in verse 6-7, Jesus is a God in history
  • In verse 8-10, Jesus, objectively, is a God Himself; in verse 6-7, Jesus, subjectively, is a God

And then he continue to verse 3-5 : Jesus showed us the way of living in heaven
by not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (4)
This, however, can not be done in this world
It can only be done in heaven
That's why Jesus came not only to show how to live
but also, to redeem humanity from sins and deaths
And that is what we celebrate at Christmas!!

♫ Man will live forevermore because of Christmas day ♫

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Family Bond

This year's Christmas was different than usual

It began when holiday came
I visited my cousin's (mom's side) house often, even though I only did it so I can play XP
Later I watched movie with him too!

A week before Christmas, my other cousins (mom's side) came to my house
They are from around Indonesia (3 different island; Java, Borneo, Maluku)
They met at my house and continue their vacation to Mount Puncak
After they got back from Puncak, they stayed in my house for a night
It was so crowded in my house, 10 people including my own family
I met my niece (from Borneo) for the first time!

That night, we celebrated Christmas, my other cousins (mom's side) came
Even my grandfather and grandmother (mom's side) came too
We stayed up late, sharing that precious moment
The next morning, they went to another city
Even just for a moment, but that night was unforgettable

At Christmas, we visited families from my dad's side
We celebrated Christmas too there
I met my new nephew for the first time as well

I felt very happy this year
I could really feel the bond of my family
They are strong, those bonds
I am grateful for the family I have
